We did it! On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, our attorney filed a complaint against Maine Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with the Kennebec County Superior Court on behalf of terminated First Responders across Maine! With this milestone, Health Choice Maine’s call to Save Maine’s EMS Network moves from words to action.
For too long and without challenge, Maine state agencies have assumed and exercised powers that they were never granted. A prime example of this offense is a permanent rule adopted by Maine EMS requiring all first responders providing direct patient care to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and Flu.
This action by Maine EMS — taken without statutory authority — led to the termination of First Responders across Maine. This in turn led to areas of Maine being dangerously underserved. Rural areas have suffered the most, but countless Mainers have been directly or indirectly affected.
Enabled by the generous support of our members, we’re proud to take a stand against this abuse of power and defend the First Responders who have always defended us.

We want to express our gratitude for everyone that helped make this milestone possible.
Make no mistake, there’s a long road ahead, and your support matters more now than ever. If you haven’t already done so, please visit our donation page right now and become a monthly supporter. That’s precisely what makes it possible for us to continue fighting for our First Responders, and for all of Maine.
